We portray your most cherished moments in documentary-style images that recall memories shared with the people you love. Through our guided, caring process honed over the past 20+ years, we capture photos that reflect your celebration, unique and unlike anyone else’s.
The best images aren’t posed because these are the moments that tell your story. The funny, quirky, emotional, joy-filled moments become photos of cherished memories passed down through generations.
We’ve been doing this for 20+ years and can truly say we’ve seen it all. No matter the situation, we have a Plan A, B, and C for everything.
Even if you’ve never had your photo taken, we have a way of putting you at ease. We guide and give direction as needed but step back and allow you to enjoy your wedding, too. That energy has a way of coming through in your photos!
We specialize in film, video, and content creation alongside digital photography. You can be sure you will come away with an abundance of incredible photos (like, so good you won’t be able to choose your favorites!).
Our clients are like dear friends to us. We care so much about your story and what you want your wedding to feel and be like. We hope that you feel like you’re being photographed by a friend, not just another vendor at your wedding.
Growing up in rural Missouri, I noticed all my friends going on vacations to Disney or Lake of the Ozarks while we took photos of nature and enjoyed the beauty of the great outdoors. My mom, Marsha — a people person through and through — loved the sight of landscapes, flowers, and wildlife through her camera lens, but what she loved more was telling stories. After years of experimenting with photography and honing her skills, she turned her focus to family portraits– finally realizing that what she loved most wasn’t scenery– it was people.
After years as a portrait photographer, she received a commission for a wedding, which she invited me to document alongside her. The referrals kept pouring in, and on nights and weekends, outside of my job in education, I pulled all-nighters editing photos and capturing weddings. The business was growing — I had to make a choice. As a new mom of twins, should I give up photography or my ambitions of becoming a principal?
As a child, I loved the nostalgia and longevity of film photography. Something sparked in me — Even if I didn’t realize it, photography was the dream job I didn’t know I always wanted. Plus, as someone who cherishes family above almost anything else, the opportunity to team up with my mom and photograph couples’ most exciting days was something I simply couldn’t pass up.
Naturally, I left my career as a second-grade teacher, put my doctorate in education on a shelf, and joined my mom to form White Klump. We took on full-time entrepreneurship, becoming part of a duo with an odd name no one would soon forget.
Sixteen years later, I still feel as though there’s no place quite like a wedding, where families joyfully come together to celebrate a couple and their fresh, new life together.
You know that friend who seems prepared for everything? You mutter how helpful some obscure tool would be and suddenly she's produced it out of thin air? That's Michelle Schwartz. She's kind of like MacGyver and Mary Poppins rolled into one!
After graduating with a degree in architecture, Michelle realized life was better with a camera in hand. Putting her eye for beauty and keen sense of composition to work, she operated her own photography business for years before joining the White-Klump team. A huge animal lover, if Michelle's not cradling a camera, she's probably cuddling her cat Miss Callie and Mastiff named Tank, or volunteering for a local animal shelter.
Marsha (aka, Momma White) started it all, and it’s thanks to her that we love what we do every day. You’ll quickly discover that Momma White is one of the most outgoing people you’ll ever meet– A life of raising children, sewing, cooking, coaching, and expanding her photography skills has taught her that you can't let fear hold you back from trying new things and enjoying life. These days, she balances the books and keeps things organized at White Klump, though, on occasion, she photographs weddings alongside Sarah or Michelle. Talented as she is, Marsha's biggest love is still her grandbabies - followed closely by dessert (she's got a terrible sweet tooth!)

“She has so many good picture ideas, and we LOVED her. She stayed the whole night and got the last shot of the night, too. We had so many compliments on how amazing she was! We loved her so much that my brother is now working with her for his wedding. You can't go wrong!”

“Sarah and Michelle were amazing on our wedding day. They came prepared with what we had discussed leading up to the day, and I felt like I could trust them. They made sure everything ran smooth and stayed calm, cool, and collected throughout it all!”
The memories you value with the people who matter most– all in documentary photos you’ll love.
